Gaya the knight (a chapter from but not chapter 1) by Devin Davis (english reading book txt) 📕

The sky was swollen with gray-blue clouds.  A loud rumble, followed by the drumming of thunder filled the silent landscape.  Boom. The clouds began to give way.  Boom. Harsh yellow light split the clouds a part like the shell of a freshly cracked egg.  Boom. Golden rays.  Boom.  The dubious cows that occupied the meadow began to stir.  Boom. Boom. Boom!

*Battle between a cobra and human.  Why are they battling?  To protect the narrator from the cobra, an evil monster that eats people.

*Who the narrator is.

The Sword slash I hear slash, slash As I run to towards to sound I see that the cobra as big a the empire state attack’s the  figure I hear The cobra say “ssss.... I shall have him for lunch don’t get in the way bird or I will kill you ssss...” The person kept slash the sword  and he said the most shocking thing I ever heard,

“I will protect Gaya and you will not eat him” I stare at him thinking What, who is he and how does he know my name the battle continue The snake show his huge long fangs then show poison like liquid dripping down from his fangs then the bird man said “πάγος” and then ice came from his hand shot it out at and the cobra scream

“Ahhhh how did you know that was my weakness well I καλέσει τα φίδια” then snakes just formed and started to attack the figure start start saying “φωτιά” and fire came from his hand’s and he shoot the fie right at the snakes and then for so reason I said,

“φτερωτά λιοντάρια” and then lion’s with wings formed from the clouds and said “What’s your bidding master” I stared at them for while and then I said “attack the huge cobra snake” and they flew up in the air and started to attack the snake and then he started to turned to dust and he screamed,

“curses i’m being killed by a mere mortal how can this be......” As I see him turned to dust the figure came down and said,

“I see so you found your power finally Gaya...”

“How do you know me”

His eye’s looked at me with sadness in them and started to say “I know everything about you like your 14 year’s old, you were kicked out of school at the age of 5 and you like digimon and pokemon your hobbies are reading greek and also you hate to eat cheeseburgers and you don’t like being around people and.....”

“ok but, I feel light headed”

“That’s just you not used to you power’s yet...” I don’t know what he said next because I blacked out

Then the next thing I knew I was in a strange place that I don’t know I think it was a Hospital Then Heger(nike name of the stranger) came in and said this “You're finally awake I thought you would never wake I...”

“What did you mean by that”

“Oh..well you used so much power well you weren’t used to having any power’s but you blacked out after you attack the Nock”

“What the heck is a Nock”

“A Nock is a powerful snake that severs Hellga the evil god of the dead...”

“Who’s Hellga and what did you mean by evil god”

“First I should tell my name I’m yellto” and I thought my name was stupid

“Do you mind if I call you Heger”

“NO!!! Let me finish”

“You were saying about this guy named Hellga”

“And Hellga is a god and do you know what gods are right”

“Yeah”

“Anyway there are good gods and goddess that protect humans and there are evil gods and goddess which are twins but the evil gods want to destroy the human race and put the monster race in...”

“Wait are the good and evil god and goddess look the same”

“No”

“What I was trying to say is that i’m your protection from the monsters but you prove yourself so you have two choices one is to join the good gods in protecting the human race or die helping the evil gods your choice” then he smile and  he look like a weird human/bird hyperbreed (which look’s like he has wing’s and claw’s instead of hand’s and claw’s for feet) now since I seen him closer and I said

“First what are you” staring at him now and he breathed in and said

“I’m a harpy”

and I yelled so loud you could think that I had three microphones “WHAT, ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING THE ENEMY? ARE YOU”

he said “No i’m not. Anway, answer the question. Are you on the good or bad side?” “I’d rather be on the good side than the bad side because of...”

Then a man came in looking like a centaur.

The man said “hello gaya long time no see” then I look close and I saw grandpa

“ grandpa!! I thought you dead” and I hugged it’s been six years since I last saw him you maybe wondering why well before I lived in the cave I had a mother she was the best mom ever and grandpa was there too until (he left the day before this happen)that night well I was sleeping in my bed then I was awoke by a loud noise like scream’s of old people and then mom came running in breathing hard as ever and she open the window (and we lived in a three stair’s apartment my room was at the third floor) and she push me and said “sorry now run...” as I fell down I felt like something was holding me but I didn’t think of it at the time when I hit the grass I felt nothing and I saw her being taken away be a weird snake and then I started running. (flashback is now over just telling you)

“gaya look how much you grown last time I saw you was when I had to pick you up just to get you to my lap”

“grandpa that was when I was two now I’m fourteen”

“op’s  I guess it’s been so long that I can’t remember”

“grandpa...”

“wait you know chiron”said yellto

“who’s that this is my grandpa”

“so.. that means...”

“that’s not what you think i’m the father of gaya’s mother”

“ok”

“so where are we, grandpa”

“at Camp Triblood”

“what’s that”

“do you remember me reading to you about special people that has power’s beyond  human’s graphs”

“yes I do those were the good old days.”

“well it’s all true”

“that means hellga is still trying to rule the world”

“yep”

“oh great now a half snake, half human is trying to take over the world”

“ok now get up and change” Grandpa gave me some clothes like a pair of blue jeans and a boston red sockets shirt and and also an pair of shoes. I got change then a girl came in and said

“hello gaya I’ve been waiting for you” (she have brown hair and her left eye was green and the other yellow she wore a green camp triblood shirt and dark blue jeans) and she came and kiss me on the cheek and cried “I missed you my love, I missed you” and I pushed her away and said “and who are you?”

“remember me at four year we dance and kiss on the lips and you hugged me”
“oh yeah lily...”

“and you said you’ll marged me and anyway’s we were arnage to be marriage” I was too stunned to move I thought she forgot all about it. I wished that I was eaten by the Nock now. “now let’s go and I got it all already and I got my dress too and your tuxedo so let’s go” Then grandpa came in and said
“not right now he’s not he’s only 14 cut him some slack he can only married at 18 ok” and I mouthed thank you to him and he winked. “now gaya time to show you around your new home and since you don’t have a place to live you can live here as long as you want.” Then he took me out of the hospital and wow when I look out
it’s was like there was an whole other world with dragons and bat’s and also people fighting and I was about to say stop but grandpa said “It’s okay they’re just sparing” and I look up at him like he was some kind of sociopath and he knew what I meant when I look at him and he said this “this is so, we can train them so when they’re on they’re own and if a monster attack them they'll be prepared for it”.
“but I thought they have power like water or fire...”
“yes, but it take a lot of energy to summon their power just to attack”said grandpa
“woah....” I said in surprisement
“but how do you get the energy”
“by medateing”
“oh...”
Then lily had to come and hug and cried so loud that the whole camp can hear her, “I wish you were a son of polloa which is the goddess of beauty so we could be in the same inn and sleep in the same bed but you had to be a son of heger or hellga... Wah... Wah... Wah...but I’ll still love you now minder what”
