Today is Today

Today is Today

There’s not always a tomorrow, but always a today
So thank God for what you have, not what you could
You can always get through it, where there’s a will there’s a way

Whether or not you’re right, I’ll listen to what you say
It’s not always about what you’ve done, but what you would
There’s not always a tomorrow, but always a today

So don’t live for tomorrow, just live for today
Don’t walk the line between wrong or right, just do what you should
You can always get through it, where there’s a will there’s a way

In tough times use you, make them hear what you say
There are no limits on you, so do what you always could
There’s not always a tomorrow, but always a today

Time Never Stops

Time Never Stops

Times are hard, but keep looking ahead
I'll be there soon to save the day
Because it could be worse, you could be dead
So read my lips, and believe what I say

Don't look on the past, get ready for the present
Like you've been pushes down, get up strong
Lose the chip, and all your grudges and resents
Fight for yourself, and be confident like they're wrong

No matter what, you've got me and the man above
Clasp your hands, and give thanks to your maker
The light is coming closer like ribbons and doves
You can do this, because life is what you make her

Keep your head up always, don't give up hope
I'm here to help, so reach up and grab the rope

Bottom Feeder

Bottom Feeder

I'm fighting with the bottom, trying not to fall
But I guess fate is fate, and my death is his call
Keep your pity to yourself, no need to share
Pity is weakness, because life's not fair

I look around, where's the peace is war?
I disagree, because what's the bloodshed for?
The earth screams of hurt, because the soil is bitter
Ignoring the staving, too tuned into twitter

I'm sitting here, watching the world drown in tears
The pain and suffering has caught up over the years
Built an ark, trying to survive the horrible flood
Looking for survivors, but the murky water is filled with blood

What happened to the day where we as one, cared?
You would've spoken up, but we know you wouldn't dare

1000 Faces

1000 Faces

You wear a thousand faces, the real colors you mask it
I've met you, but I couldn't pick you out of a crowd
Couldn't even identify your body laying in the casket

You scream silent, but your whisper shines loud
Because everyday to you was Halloween, so trick or treat
People ask me if I knew you, but I wasn't allowed

I saw I knew you, but the reality is that we didn't meet
Because to you I was another person in the way
I tried to stand up to you, but you told me to take a seat

I opened my mouth, but I couldn't get out of I wanted to say
Because I didn't know who I was talking to in the first place
So look on the ground, there's where my heart lay

The longer you keep the mask, the deeper it goes
The only person you're fooling is you, and it shows

Lion's Roar

Lion's Roar

For always roaming with a hungry heart
The lion roars signaling it ripping apart
Your heart, so run and don't ever slow or stop
Because I can hear the sound of your body drop

At the sound of the body drop
The lion gets excited at his food stop
He lowers his head to feast
The lion, the beast

The lion roars for hunger
Is the hunger of a heart searching for love
The roar like a heart is stronger
Bow your head and pray for a love to fill our heart from above

Sunglasses

Sunglasses

My shades hide my eyes
So you can't see passed
Because what you'll end up seeing
Will make the first finish last

Chair

Chair

I slide my fingers over the polished wood
Knowing I'd take the throne if only I could
The chair, the sacred holy chair
I'd kick, I'd scream, I wouldn't care
Just to sit in this wooden piece of art
I couldn't handle it, I have no heart

Talk

Talk

Talk talk talk...
Kids stop and talk
In the middle of
The hallway
So we can't walk

The voices of the immature
Piercing my ears
Making me want to scream
SHUTUP! SHUTUP! SHUTUP!
Learn how to walk and talk...
Maybe at the same time

But that requires you to be
Considerate, and not be a
Problem. Too bad that
Will never happen, so for now
SHUTUP! SHUTUP! SHUTUP!

Always Hope

Always Hope

Babies being born meth addicted
The pain and suffering all inflicted
The chance of survival is very slim
Put on this vest, or learn to swim

Come into this world locked in chains
Drugs already running through your veins
Before you start, you can't even quit
Attemtped murder, your parents already commit

Before you were here, you were born to lose
It's your life, it's sad you couldn't even choose
Now you're on earth, come take the win
Don't give up faith, all hope is within
