The wind blew slightly in the confides of night in the small city. I held my lab coat securely around me. It was fake of course but it was still warm. I approached the hospital, and entered. It was dangerous, but iwas undercover, as was my friend, we had to find a cure, and fast. The halls were dark and quiet, almost too quiet, but every now and then I could hear the faint beeping of someone’s heartbeat, on the monitors. We had traveled a long way to this place, exactly where the mutation began. We had to stop it. It was destroying our hidden communities, mutating them, in an irreversible way. β€œLea” I say as she joins me in the hall. I would have jumped only months before I had been changed, at her sudden appearance but now I could hear her every move. Everyone’s every move. β€˜Drea” she replies. She was dressed similar to me, and I smiled at her, flashing bright white teeth. Our code for whatever was convenient today it was. β€˜Let’s go kick some ass.’ It seemed to fit for the moment. The hallway seemed to get narrower as we walked, I knew it wasn’t, I assumed it was to scare the humans and patients from entering the room that lay beyond. It was an excellent glamour but I could see right through it. yet another attribute to being a vampire assassin. No not all vampires are the same. Some have no abilities at all, only the thirst and they are soon proven useless and executed. Those made have to be chosen wisely. Some are day walkers, and get all the extra senses, and a few abilities. Like me, and, my partner. They have to be bred precisely. In order for the transformation to be exact. That was the hard part. Some vamps got a few abilities, and those who do get to live. I however am very fortunate. I am one of the only two like me. Lea and I are alike. Only slight differences can differ us. We can glamour, we can use telepathy, and our eyes can do β€˜Jedi mind tricks’ so to speak. Our reflexes are far better than anyone we know, as well as our senses. The only thing we have different are our unique abilities. We can use the elements when we wish of course, drawing power from the earth. Lea however has visions that predict the future and show the past. I can feel energy in any object, and therefore move it with a simple swish of my hand a blink of an eye, or the simple will of my mind. Some would think this difficult, I think nt. It takes to energy from my power source, and I have an advantage in many battles. The only other thing that sets us apart is our weapon choice. Lea always picks a gun if on choice as her first weapon, another one, and a small knife. I on the other hand I prefer projectile weapons to knives. So I pick a gun, or throwing stars, throwing knives, or if I get the chance, my bow. I named my bow Hera after the mother Olympian goddess, and she comes to me when I barely whisper her name. I have also named my throwing knives with the names Demeter, and Artemis, and names, for I would not NEED them in a battle, therefore I would not take the energy or the time to enchant them as well. It is quite difficult. My gun however has a name. Kaiya, it is of Japanese origin and means one who forgives. I want those I harm to forgive me, even of they do deserve it. I know that Lea has named her weapons of choice too but in no instance do you EVER share your names with anyone, even one I trust as much as her. For names hold much power, and anyone else but the master knowing them is very dangerous indeed. We walked down the secluded hallway like in some of those movies where there is really good music on and people are shocked at the grace of their walk. That was what we were doing except this was very much real, even though I wished sometimes that it was, now was one of those times. I saw a pair of double doors ahead of me that I recognized from the blue prints, as the experiment room. My DNA instantly repelled me from stepping even one step closer to the abomination that lay in side this hospital. i was sure of my intentions in this hostital, and that was the only thing that kept my going toward the doors. I open the door to see a bright white light. Almost blinding to my ultra sensitive eyesight. That was one of the the only things that sucked about being a vampire, especially whne you have hyped up DNA. Every one of your senses is over active, and extremele sensitive.
