I look at myself in the mirror. "Your pretty enough." I tell myself, it wasn't a lie. I turn, cocking my head to the side a little bit as I peered at my short blonde self in the crisp mirror. There was a knock at my door, a small timid one I knew to be my chambermaid Alyssa. "Come in," I call, "you know you don't need to knock, I loved on the street for years, I'm not concerned with my own privacy." I smile pleasantly at Alyssa, she smiles a little bit. Having only been in Manor Donovan for two months I had only been able to get to know Mr. Donovan a little, and Alyssa didn't talk much, she did read though which was unusual in women. She owned only one book that I had seen, I motion to the large pile of books I had in the corner. "You're allowed in here any time, you can borrow my books if you want."
