Chap 1
Laylahnni sat in her sister Cadence's bed thinking of all the reasons she hated life. The first reason was because of her mother, second was because everything she did was compared to Cadence.
Who would have thought you would be compared to someone dead. Not Laylahnni.
She ran her hand through her silky brown hair an sighed, βWhat am I going to do?β she said to the calico cat named Mr. Biddles.
The cat just me-owed
. Laylahnni wanted to laugh but she couldnβt bring herself to. So instead she dragged her feet across the floor to her own room and closed the door silently. Thatβs when the idea hit her.
She wouldn't commit suicide, just pretend to. Instead of loosing her boring
life, she would set it aside. She would just leave. She would take Kellan up on his offer. She would get to go to Hawaii!
But she knew better than that. Lillian wouldnβt just let her leave. Ever.
So pushing the thought over to the other side of her head she sat down at her desk (that she bought) and started to write.
Caress of the careless mother,
Last kiss of the lost father,
Heart of the happy sister,
She stopped, tore the paper apart and threw it in her over stuffed trash bin. She put her head in her hands and just thought of Cadence.
She was there when Cade had committed suicide. She tried to stop her but she was too week. Her mom thought Cade was killed in a drive by. Laylahnni would never tell her mother the truth.
No matter what, she still loved her mom, even if the love was unreturned, and she didnβt want her mother to have her memory of her favorite daughter ruined.
She glanced at her watch and went down stairs, it was time to start dinner.
