The few Shock Knights who were watching me instead of scanning the corridor for signs of danger nodded their agreement.
“Thanks, ladies,” I said gratefully. “I really appreciate it.”
With any luck, these women would fight back my nightmares for me, as well as any actual space pirates. They certainly looked like capable angels in their golden uniforms.
Sex angels, of course.
The best kind.
Smiling, I slouched lower in my chair and closed my eyes.
I tried to focus on something positive, hoping it would help me sleep.
First thought?
A hot naked babe giving me the go sign.
The second that thought crossed my mind, I saw Violet’s eyes gazing lovingly into mine, felt her riding me to orgasmic oblivion under the shade of the purple jungle canopy where we lay atop a large blue-green leaf the size of a blanket.
Violet.
Unlike my Bombshells, Violet was not safe. She was out there in the deadly Zalaxian jungle alone. It was night. The jungle was extremely deadly after dark. I knew from experience. Earlier this evening, Violet and I had almost been killed by venomous Slasher Bats. If I hadn’t used my Bombshells Ring after the attack to remove the bat poison from our bodies, both of us would’ve died on the back of Mrs. Mountainous.
Violet.
I had to go find Violet.
Without her tribe protecting her, the only protection she had was me. It didn’t matter that both my rings — the True Ring and the Bombshells’ Ring — were nearly drained of power. As long as both rings had a tiny bit of ring fuel between them, they could work wonders.
That would go a long way to protecting Violet — if I could find her before it was too late to save her.
I jumped up from my chair with grim purpose. I gasped when I saw Captain Theia and the Shock Knights standing guard and still crowding the room.
“Excuse me, ladies,” I said as I tried to squeeze past an ocean of nudity. “I need to get past.”
Captain Theia said, “May I ask where you intend to go, my king?”
“Outside.”
“We’ll come with you, my king,” Theia said confidently.
“It could be dangerous. I’m going into the jungle.”
“It will be less dangerous if we’re with you.”
“You don’t have to. I mean it. This is my thing not yours. No reason to endanger yourselves on my account.”
“Our duty is to you, my king,” Captain Theia said gravely. “We are your shield, we are your sword.”
The others nodded agreement.
Clearly, they had been deadly serious when giving their oaths.
I wanted to tell them to stay here at the outpost where it was safe, but I was fairly certain that would only waste precious time I could better spend searching for Violet. And, I had to admit, backup was always nice, especially when it was a bevy of backup babes.
“Okay,” I nodded. “Let’s go.”
“After you, my king.”
At that point, I walked out of medical followed by my erotic entourage of Captain Theia and her squad of fifty gorgeous Shock Knight bodyguards wearing next to nothing.
Welcome to Harem Planet, where every woman is a supermodel willing to lay down their life for mine, and my loyal concubine bound by law to lay down in my bed whenever I requested it.
That should have made my life perfect, but nothing would be perfect until I knew Violet was safe.
—: Chapter 8 :—
“I need weapons,” I said to Captain Theia after we walked out of Medical and into the hexagonal corridors that connected the outpost buildings. With my rings nearly empty and no time to charge them, I decided to go old school. “Portable firepower. The bigger the better. Is there an armory around here where I can gear up quick?”
“There should be, my king.” Theia nodded. “It’s been years since I’ve been here, but I’ll find it for you. One moment while I contact Control.” She lifted one golden glove close to her mouth. A small silver ring was visible on her inner wrist. She spoke into it, saying, “Captain Theia to Control. Information request. Out.”
“Control to Theia,” a female voice said audibly from the silver ring on Theia’s wrist. “How can I assist, Captain? Out.”
“Crown requests access to the armory. Can you show me the way?”
“Control to Theia, follow the golden line overhead. Out.”
On the corridor’s ceiling, a golden strip lit up leading the way.
“That’s handy,” I muttered to myself.
Theia said over comms, “Thank you Control. Theia out.”
“Say hi to Crown for me,” the woman on comms said giddily.
Leaning toward Theia’s upraised glove, I chuckled, “Hey there. You must be Control.”
“One of, my king,” the woman said. “You must be Crown.”
“I guess I am,” I grinned.
“It’s an honor to speak with you, my king.”
“Likewise,” I said with a friendly smile.
“You should come down to Mission Control sometime and meet the girls,” the woman said flirtatiously, having lost any semblance of professionalism.
“Sounds like a plan.”
“I’m Ursa.”
“Nice to meet you, Ursa. We can chat more later. Sorry to cut and run, but I’m in the middle of something.”
“My apologies, my king. Call us if you need anything. Control out.”
I nodded at Theia and we started walking. Much like any large hospital or sprawling office campus, the outpost’s complex of buildings was extensive and we turned a dozen corners or more, passing through several different hexagonal buildings. Along the way, we also passed countless gasping guardswomen, all of them gorgeous, all of them gobsmacked to see their acting king — me — in the flesh, like I was their favorite rockstar idol.
I made sure to offer each woman a brief smile without stopping to talk. Finding Violet took priority over flirting.
That didn’t stop the women from trying or me from drooling. This outpost was basically my own personal beauty pageant. Miss Zalaxia, where every contestant was mine for the taking. It was nearly impossible to stay focused on the task at hand, but somehow I managed.
Along the way, we took an elevator down two levels. Stepping out, I saw conduits snaking along the concrete ceiling and concrete walls
