“They targeted Asherah and Silva first, but then it looked like they wanted to take out the strongest adversaries, particularly Alphas and other wolves who were capable of the most damage.”
“They remembered their scent.”
Adonis nodded. “Exactly. Now, how do you think it would help if every wolf and mage could wear the suit?”
She could save thousands of lives by hiding their warriors and confusing the enemy. “They’d have to rely on only sight, giving us an advantage.”
“Ambushes could be planned; specialized teams could be created to target the Hollows as quickly as possible. As the first to mobilize, they could send warning and deal a decisive blow to our enemy.”
Fabiana hadn’t thought of that, and it wasn’t a use for nefarious purposes. She never wanted her invention to be used to cause harm to others, or worse, in battles between packs. Moretti, Lombardi, and Bianchi were bonded, but the Moonstone Pack—the largest—was always a threat if there was a war.
Now she was mated to the Moonstone Alpha, creating a family tie that would link them all together.
“I don’t have the capability to mass-produce it.”
Adonis lifted his hand to his ear. “Raph, I need you to my room, now.” Then he turned to Fabiana. “Get dressed, pequeña. I’d like my beta to keep his head on his shoulders, and if he takes one look at you like that …”
Fabiana looked down. Oh. The suit hid nothing, molding to her skin so she appeared to be naked.
“Right.”
She grabbed the nearest clothes she had—soft white yoga pants and a yellow sweater—and threw them on. By the time she pulled her hair from the neckline, a knock sounded on the door.
“Come in, Raph.”
The beta stepped in, a brow lifted as he looked back and forth between Adonis’s undressed state and her fully clothed body.
“Uh …”
“We’re going into the business of manufacturing, hermano. Fabiana, tell him what you need.”
Raphael lifted a hand. “Explain first.”
Adonis laid it all out, relaying it better than Fabiana would have.
Raphael inhaled. “I wondered. That is … amazing. I can’t tell she’s there at all, even though I see her. My wolf hates it. Will take some getting used to when a soldier wears it.”
“You will handpick who gets one after you and I have ours. I don’t want anyone selling this shit. I want it locked down tight, need-to-know basis, and vet the team who will work with the Alpha mate. They fuck this up, they die. We’re using Tranquillum rules.”
Raphael nodded firmly.
“Tranquillum rules?”
Raphael turned his attention to Fabiana. “Adonis has told you about the location, right?” At her nod, he continued. “It’s a neutral zone. We allow visitors to use it under the strict understanding that if they try to steal the information or replicate it, they die. If they cause any altercations with a rival while inside, they die. All problems, alliances, and rivalries are left at the door. It’s a place of peace and we mean to keep it that way. It’s the safest location to hold meetings between different groups or factions.”
“You may want to offer it to PCP, with all the other leaders joining the fray. We’re bound to have someone pissed at the Renegades, at least,” Fabiana mused.
Adonis chucked. “She’s right. I’ll contact the Alphas and Kalinda. I hadn’t thought to use it that way. Arturo and Dominic seemed comfortable using their territory and the Arena, but with our mating, things have changed. I wouldn’t touch them if for no other reason than it would piss you off.”
The men kept talking about plans to use Tranquillum for the Portal City Protectors, but Fabiana was still stuck on Adonis’s last sentence to her. I wouldn’t touch them if for no other reason than it would piss you off. Something so small and simple to keep them at peace.
Not because of the war.
Not because of the agreement between the parties.
Just because of her.
“I’ll need quite a few things to get started, not limited to at least one wolf experienced in nanotechnology, a couple of chemists, a few seamstresses, and some physicists.”
“A seamstress?”
She laughed at Raphael’s confused expression. “Who do you think is going to do all the measuring and sewing? I’ll handle Adonis’s personally, but some extra help will speed things along.”
“Got it. Give me a list and I’ll get it for you,” Raphael promised before bowing to both of them and leaving.
“You’ll take care of mine personally, hm?”
“Who knows your body better than me?”
“Indeed.”
It was a long time before Fabiana could do more than breathe after that. She supposed her mate figured she was at least well enough to be a meal if she couldn’t take his cock.
Chapter Eleven
Fabiana knew Raphael was competent, but she didn’t know he was a miracle worker. Within a week, he’d gathered the material for at least twenty suits, including one for him and Adonis. The scientists and seamstresses—including one very happy Billie—were vetted and sworn to secrecy.
The beta had even repurposed another space for the creation of the suits. A small hangar now rested at the back of the main property, away from prying eyes. Fabiana didn’t know how they did things so fast, but it seemed money and Adonis’s influence in the world spoke volumes.
Adonis was much more than the Alpha for the largest pack in Encantado.
This level of production and adherence to strict guidelines without so much of a thought demonstrated more about who he was than anything. He stood to the side, surveying everything as delivery men brought in highly sensitive equipment and placed it all where her team needed it before getting his signature and leaving.
Soldiers walked the perimeter constantly, smiling at her with thanks when she brought them water or sandwiches during their shifts. Who was Adonis DeLuna? Why was
