Fuck, Fuck, FUCK! Only one place to put her until I know what to do with her and keep her safe. Dom knew what I was thinking and was getting angry with me.
“You can’t do that to our mate! Our job is to protect her.” He said.
“We are protecting her.” I told him. “GET HER A SHIRT AND TAKE HER TO A CELL!” I growled out.
Chapter 16 – Him
“YOU WILL NOT PUT ME IN A CAGE LIKE SOME WILD ANIMAL!” I yelled at this Alpha jerk.
My eyes still closed because they had dirt in them. I desperately wanted to wash my face and rinse my eyes out. I could feel him standing inches away from me and I couldn’t help but think about his naked body.
“Look at you.” He said and gently tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. “You’re a wild animal.” He said. Tingles shot down my spine at the sound of his voice. I was fighting an urge from deep down inside of me to lean into him and make contact.
I heard footsteps approaching and I was hoping it was Niko, but I could actually smell the she wolf. “Here you go Alpha.” She said.
“Thank you.” He replied to her. He was being nice to whoever the strawberry sorbet smelling female was and I felt a pang of jealousy.
“I can’t open my eyes; I need to rinse them.” I said.
“You’ll have to wait until we get back. Now raise your arms up.” He said and I felt a shirt being pulled over my head, so I raised my arms while he dressed me.
“I won’t be able to see where I’m walking.” I protested.
The next thing I know, I was being flung over his shoulder and he was carrying me. I was suddenly very much aware that my butt, which was barely covered by a long shirt, was right next to his face, while my upper body dangled like a sack behind his back. He had put on some shorts, but his upper half was still naked, my skin tingled everywhere we made contact. What the hell was happening to me, I wanted to touch him all over.
“Alpha, the patrols have picked up rogue scents near the southern border.” A male’s voice said.
“Get the warriors ready, I need to get Raven out of sight.” He commanded. Wait a minute. Did he just say my name? Why was I so giddy over something so ridiculous?
He broke out in a run and I tried to steady myself to keep from bouncing around. Moments later he stopped running and I heard the sound of wolves shifting. He went up some stairs and into a house, the pack house I assume.
“The pack doctor will be here in a few minutes with an eye wash.” He said and set me down in a chair.
“Eros must know we’re involved if he’s sending rogues already.” A voice that sounded like Alec said.
“They could just be scouting for her, we’re the closest pack to Athens. They set foot on my land; they die.” Dimitri growled.
“Raven, Eros was badly burned, was that you?” I heard Niko’s voice ask.
“Uhhh, maybe.” I wasn’t really sure what to say.
“What do you mean MAYBE? Either you set him on fire, or you didn’t?” Dimitri asked annoyed.
I wasn’t sure how to answer grumpy Alpha. “Eros said his boss wanted me dead, but first he wanted to have fun with me. He went to light his cigar and I expanded the flame to his face.” I told them.
“Holy Fuck!” Alec said.
“Next time you burn someone trying to kill you, finish the job completely.” Dimitri growled at me.
“Thanks, I’ll remember that when you try and kill me.” I said bitterly and Alec laughed out loud.
“Do you think he knows you’re elemental?” Niko asked.
“I’m not sure, he used my lighter for his cigar. Maybe he thought there was something wrong with the lighter and it burned him?” I added.
“Of course he’s going to know, he’s a wolf. Normally a burn will heal, but he’s going to be scarred. Elemental fire burns hotter because it’s controlled with emotions. If he hasn’t figured it out already, he’ll know in the days to come.” Dimitri said.
Great, just what I needed to hear. Eros was going to hunt me down to the ends of the earth. I wondered if he would try to hunt me down back to Crescent Moon. I needed to call my dad. Ughh, I must have left my purse in the forest with my phone.
“Where’s my purse?” I asked.
“Odessa has it.” Niko said. “Should I have her bring it down?” He asked.
“No, I’ll be stopping at her room tonight and will get it.” Dimitri said.
He was going to her room. It must be well after midnight. Was she his girlfriend or maybe a lover? Why do I even care? And why was I feeling jealous? Rae wanted to gouge out Odessa’s eyes and we hadn’t even met the skank yet.
There was a knock at the door. “Come in Dr. Vovos.” Dimitri called out.
“Good evening Alpha, where is the patient?” She asked.
“This is Raven, she seems to have some dirt in her eyes.” Dimitri explained.
“Hello Dear, I’m Dr. Vovos.” She warmly greeted me.
“Is
