Midnight Tryst
I am whispering your name like musical
notes,
dancing through the air from my heart to
yours.
Come to me in the garden this
night
when the golden orb has abandoned his
station.
We will sit under the trellis crowned with tiny
pink Iceberg roses
on overstuffed cushions of
down.
I long to hear what you are
saying,
though no words need to be
spoken.
Eagerly waiting, I sway with unclad feet lifted,
and
barely touching the ground.


My gown, so light and flowing, creates a
kaleidoscope of color
on the evening’s shadowy canvas.
Now the moon flirts with the wisps of clouds,
leaving the sky to twinkle and
shimmer.
The cool breeze must wrap
us.
