I run past the castle walls but I don’t make it far. The guards. “What is the Princess doing out of the castle?” A guard asks, blocking my way. “I don’t know, lets guide her back in.” The other one says with a devious smile. “I’m running away!” I say excitedly. I had to think fast. “LOOK OUT! BEHIND YOU!” I yell, and they both turn around. I push them aside and run further away. Now they are on horses chasing after me. I run into the forest, panting and gasping for air. I stop. There’s a brown horse in front of me, with no rider. Should I ride it? Before I can think anymore a hand grabs me and pulls me behind a tree. A hand covers my mouth, as the guards pass by on their horses. The person lets go of me and I slap him. “Ouch!” He screams. Immediately I feel terrible. I slapped Max. “Max! I didn’t know it was you! I thought you were a different person, or a guard.” I rub his cheek. He swips my hand away. I back away.

“Are you crazy Princess!” He yells, grabbing my hand, and pulling me onto his horse.

“I am many of things, but I am not crazy, Max.” I giggle kissing his cheek, and wrapping my arms around his waist.

“And what are even out here for?”

“To become free like you.”

“I’m not free.”

“Yes you are, you can do anything you want, anytime you want.”

“If you say so.”

I giggle and bounce with excitement. “Will you explore with me?”

“Of course I will.” Max replies squeezing my hands. I am going to have a whole new perspective of life.

We arrive in the village. I point to these wooden structures, with food. “What are those?” I ask Max.

“That’s our market area. Where we buy food.” Max answers, waving to the lady who works in the market business. I wave too but she just stares. That’s what happened with every villager. I began to worry and didn’t realize Max had stopped the horse. “We are here!” He yells. I jump off the horse and my feet hit dirt. I look in front of me and see a shack. I gulp. “Is this your house?” I utter. Max nods looking proud. “I built it.” I try not to laugh, and as if to save from doing it a plump old woman comes out of the shack. “Ello, Maximus!" She exclaims. “Ello mother." HE mumbles grabbing my hand. “This is my friend Pri- Audra, this is Audra.” He stutters. I giggle, and he pushes me out in front of his mother. “Why, she’s a beauty isn’t she now?” The woman seems to look at me like a museum wax model. I blush at her comment. “Let me show you inside dear, I think you might like something I have.
