“Rohit I told you not to come to my house. If Mahesh Uncle finds you here we will be in big problem.” She said pushing the door of the room while her Mom was still in kitchen.

“Why the hell was your phone not reachable? I have been trying to contact you for so many days. If you would have answered my call, I wouldn’t have come here.” I said raising my voice.

“Rohit ….are you drunk??? How dare you enter my home like this? Please get out immediately before Mahesh Uncle comes in.” She yelled at me.

“I was missing you babby. Please come back in my life. I tried but it’s impossible for me to live without you. Let me speak with your Mom first, she had earlier accepted me whole heartedly. I am sure she would be agreeing again, I will convince her. I know she loves me too.” I said stepping towards the door.

“Ohhh Rohit ….don’t create a scene anymore, you already did enough of this.You better leave immediately, I beg. Rohit we decided and mutually called end to our relationship. Then suddenly why are you behaving like this. You promised you will not come here.”

“No I need to talk to her. How could she emotionally blackmail you like that? I want to ask her. I was about to get up.” She pushed me back.

“Sakshi let me go… I need to talk to her. Why are you stopping me? I am in full control of my mind. Please let me speak to her. She can’t do this to me, I will be ruined.” I said trying to balance myself.”

“Rohit!!!! Why you are doing this to me now??? It’s already more than two weeks we broke up. Slowly you will get habituated with this. See even I am trying to get back in life. In the meantime her cellphone rings that was on the table. She rushed to pick that but I immediately snatched cellphone from her hand. I saw “V” flashing. She came thumping over me “Give my phone back Rohit….. Give it back to me.”

I pushed her back and shouted “Stop, don’t you dare move an inch.” I took a step ahead and said so Vimal is the new man in your life and showed her the cellphone screen that was still ringing and flashing “V”.

“Rohit you have become a psycho….you need medical help. I have told you several times there is nothing between Vimal and me…We are just good friends.”

“Ohhhh yeah…..don’t worry I will find out on my own, I don’t need your explanations anymore.”

Aunty came from kitchen shouting, “What the hell are you both doing, what is the noise all about?”

I kept the cellphone in pocket and came out pulling the door room. I almost rammed with her Mom while coming out of the room, she stared at me but I didn’t say her anything and moved passing her quietly towards main door. Sakshi came running after me…. “Rohit please give my phone back.”

“Yeah sure I will return it back to you….don’t forget it was my gift to you on your last birthday.” I said without even turning back to look her and came out rushing from her flat. She tried but could not stop me.

I took a rickshaw and came straight to my room. I kept her mobile on my bed and lighted one cigarette.

Then I started checking her call details it was full with “V” i.e. Vimal. I came to know she had changed her mobile number as well that’s why her phone was not reachable when I was trying to call her. I started believing whatever Avani told me. I checked her inbox and in flash everything was clear, it was full with romantic messages. As i kept on reading one after another message my pulse started beating faster. It was of similar kind that she used to send to me. It didn’t take me long to understand what was going on between the two. Tears came rolling from eyes and I shouted “Sakshi why the hell you did this to me, why??? You could have confessed to me if you didn’t want to continue our relation, I gave so much love, my life everything. I trusted you more than anyone in this world and what you gave me in return was this betrayal…. why?? You ruined my life Sakshi why the hell you backstab?”

I started checking the mobile snaps and videos those were full with their romantic poses and scenes. They were numerous voice recordings. I kept on listening to one by one. There was one long recording, I checked the details it showed 13th May 2010, at that time she was still with me. I was tempted to listen to that one so I put it on speaker and came close.

“Dear I am missing you badly. Come on say those 3 magical words. I am dying to hear that. You didn’t say that even once today.” I was shocked to hear Sakshi speaking to Vimal in this way.

“Oh not so fast you idiot, be romantic. Haven’t you seen how they do in movies? Slowly

it should melt in my heart like the way butter melts in mouth.”

“Vimal common, stop joking, you are spoiling my mood by pushing him unnecessary in between us”. She said being annoyed with his comment.

“Okay okay… I am sorry. Did you confront him? That you don’t want to continue with him anymore.”

“Are you crazy?? Not so early, give me some time. Just couple of month back he announced our marriage.”

“Sakshi…it may take months then??? I am fed up with cat mouse game. Why are you so scared of him when I am there with you? Just call him and say straight that you over with this relationship. If he creates problem then I am there to handle this.”

“Ohh Vimal…it’s not as simple said and done… now it’s not just about two of us, we are now engaged and marriage has been announced, so you see now it’s about two families. I can’t break this marriage with Rohit so easily as everyone knows about this and might raise question on my character if i leave him this way. I need to have a real genuine reason to make him belief.” I was totally speechless when I heard this from her.

“Ohhh forget it Sakshi!!!!! I can’t wait such long; we need to think about our marriage too. We are earning well, I am dying to start our own family. If you can’t, I will meet him and tell him straight away.” There was voice of Vimal.

“Don’t you dare act so stupidly? I know how to handle this. I will intentionally start avoiding him and irritate him so much that he would call off this relation on his own. This way my image will also remain clean in everyone’s eyes and no one will blame me.”

“Do you think this way it will work????”

“Ohh don’t worry I have known him for so many years; I know how to get rid of him. He would shout, he would scream, will irritate me and would be fine in few days. But we need to act very shrewdly. If he comes to know about this plan anyway. I don’t know what the hell he will do. He is a real paranoid and I know him very well I have tolerate him for 4 and half years.” She said and they both laughed.

“You need to have some patience babbyyy. Just wait and watch how I will clean swift his game.”

“Please stop, we had enough of this Rohit!!!!!! Common give me a sweet hug and long kiss. I was so tired the entire day in office and you didn’t have time to talk to me just for 5 minutes.”

“Ohhh Vimal, we daily spend around 12-14 hours a day together right from leaving home in the morning at 9 till we reach home around 10 pm. We are always together, that’s not enough???”

“Not it’s not enough, in office where the hell do we have time to spend together. Beside that ugly boss keeps on spying at me. I hate when he scans your body with those horny eyes.”

I could not believe my ears when I heard that cheap statement from her.

I stopped the recording immediately. I fetched my glass and poured the entire whiskey remaining in the bottle and drank those neat. I felt a sensation, like my chest was burning. I don’t know was this the effect of the whiskey or what I heard just over the recording. I stood and went near the dressing mirror. My eyes were completely moisten with tears and were shining.

I looked down and raised my face upwards smiling…. I clapped looking at the mirror. What a fool I made of myself. So much was going in between Vimal and her in the last couple of months while she was still with me and I didn’t have a single hint of that. I was recharging her mobile almost every week and she was continuing her romance over phone on my finance….Great I must salute her cheapness. Everyone around me could see this Mom, Sanjeev, Avani and even Nisha who had not ever met or talked to her. But I was the one who could not understand what others felt.

I am not feeling bad that we broke up, but I am feeling much worse that we broke up in such way. It was now confirmed she intentionally betrayed me. The entire world would sympathize with her and would blame only me for this. A well planned game Sakshi…. I must applaud you. A girl whom I met four and half years back who was so innocent, so vulnerable would one day become such wicked…..unbelievable Man….i shouted and laughed. I taught her the lesson of life in every stages of journey together to protect her from this cruel world. But she utilizes all her learnt skills to fool me. I look at the mirror and kept on clapping, “You deserve this for loving her so blindly…..you Moron!!!!!!”.
