confusingly. Could she trust him? Then she nodded, waved at Collin and followed after her uncle.
“So you’re the princess’s prince?” said a voice in his cell.
“Yes, and you are?”
“I am Nathentex, cousin of Jolent, the person who brought you here. I am Darius’s bargaining chip to keep Jolent here working for him.”
“How are you Jolent’s cousin? You are an elf and he is a very strange looking gnome.”
Nathentex took a deep breath and said the same thing to Collin as he did when Katalia asked him.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Katalia was led through more corridors, and rooms. When her uncle brought her outside, she looked around.
There were mountains all around. In between two of the mountains, however, there was a stretch of road, and a river. Since Katalia was thinking of escaping, that’s what she paid attention to, the most. But as she thought more about how she was going to escape, she knew that Uncle Darius would know she would take that path. So, instead, she would climb a mountain. Just any random mountain. Katalia looked around, and saw a mountain that was of medium height. She would climb that one. Then the little voice in her head said, “You don’t need to leave. Uncle Darius has been quite kind, and he might actually get nicer. And Drake isn’t that bad either.”
The problem with the voice, was that when Katalia heard it, she started to believe it, and it terrified her. So, she made a break for it. She had to get to her castle, and tell her mom and dad what happened, and tell them that they must rescue Collin and Nathentex. She ran up the side of a small hill, and looked behind her. Her uncle was nowhere in sight, so she ran. There was a dim, red light that stretched around the castle. She tried to fly over it, but her wings didn’t work for some reason, and she noticed, that if they did work, she would never be able to get that high, so she ran through it. And when she ran through it, a high-pitched sound emitted from the castle.
“Oh, great.” she said. “ There goes my escape plan.”
She sent a message to the first person she thought of. James. She asked quickly for help, and hoped that he would understand who was calling him. Then she heard someone yelling for her to stop.
She ran anyway, but heard people coming up behind her. Then, a strong hand grabbed her arm, and pulled her back. She turned. It was Drake. He dragged her back to the castle, to see her uncle.
Uncle Darius was standing in the throne room, and when Katalia was dragged in, kicking and screaming, he turned and said, “Dear, dear, Katalia, I thought I could trust you. Now, it seems, that you will not be able to see your prince, who will be punished for anything that you do wrong.”
“That’s not fair. If you think that I have made a wrong decision, you should punish me, not Collin.” said Katalia.
“Well, then why would I capture him? If he is to be no use to me, then why should I have captured him in the first place?”
Katalia didn’t want to give her uncle any ideas, so she said, “I don’t know.”
“That’s better.” replied her uncle, “So let’s go and eat.”
Darius walked down the hallway, and into the dining room. Drake brought in Katalia, and shoved her into her chair.
“Careful with your future wife, my son.” said Darius.
“I have no intention of marrying your son, uncle.” said Katalia.
“Hm, yes, I know you don’t, but let’s just have dinner, shall we? I am quite hungry.” said Darius.
After Katalia ate, she felt very strange. Everything was fuzzy, and she couldn’t see anything.
“Oh, great,” she thought, “There was something in the food.”
She could hear her uncle saying, “Go to bed Drake. Tomorrow is a big day, and we have work to do.”
Drake left the room.
Her uncle started talking to her. She was to forget her friends. Forget Collin. Forget that she ever lived with anyone but her uncle, and her cousin, who was supposed to marry her. She has to love Drake. He is wonderful, and good and kind. Forget her friends. Forget her family. Forget Collin. Who was she supposed to forget? And that’s when she blacked out.

Back to the running girls in the forest.............
“I can’t go on much longer!” puffed Aralina.
Megdelia stopped and flew back to her.
“Grab on to my foot and I’ll fly for both of us.” Aralina looked a little hesitant, but soon grabbed on to her friends foot. And soon they took off.
“Whoa!” Aralina exclaimed she had never gone this fast before. And It was sort of scary yet thrilling.
Soon they passed Simolia and Kaliea and where now in the lead flying wise. Methuen somehow was able to stay in the lead.
“How does he do that?” Simolia asked to Kaliea who was the only one in range of her voice.
Kaliea shrugged, “I don’t know. Magic probably.”
“You two stop, by order of the king!” the two turned to see the guards had caught up to them.
The two screamed in alarm and suddenly found new energy. The rest of the group heard the screams and froze. Turned and saw the guards. Methuen got a huge smile on his face and stood in a battle pose. Megdelia and Aralina flew down to him.
“Methuen, no. We have already lost Collin and James we do not need to lose you as well!” Aralina yelled to him. The two swooped down and snatched up the magician who was soon kicking and screaming.
“I shrink guards. Put down!” then he looked down and saw how far they were off the ground and fainted.
“He’s afraid of heights!” Aralina called as she struggled to hold up her part of his now limp body.
“I’ve noticed.” She said back, “Aralina, you and the others take Methuen to that rock formation over there. I will distract the guards.”
“Megdelia!” She called after her as her friend let go gently of the magician so as not to make her friend plummet to the ground. But still she had to struggle with the magicians weight.
Kaliea came as fast as she could and lifted up the feet of the magician then headed toward the rock formation that Megdelia had pointed to.
Simolia stayed behind, even though Megdelia objected She still stayed.
Megdelia rolled her eyes then turned toward the guards, “Hey you, you want us come and get us!” she called out to them.
The guards looked surprised that they were going to give up, but quickly took what they thought was an opportunity and quickly started to come toward them.
Simolia closed her eyes in concentration and froze some of their wings. Megdelia grabbed her friend's hand and flew as fast as she could toward the rock formation. Just when they got there the trees started to rapidly grow. Prohibiting the guards to follow them. The two were met by Aralina with her hands on her hips.
“Megdelia, never. And I repeat, never do that again!”
“It had to be done. And Methuen over there wasn’t much help.” Megdelia said motioning to the unconscious magician, who was using Kaliea’s bag as a pillow.
“Hello? Is everyone alright?” A voice called from the bottom of the formation. Aralina peeked her head out and saw Hosily climbing up one of the trees.
“Hold on I’ll be down to give you a lift.” Aralina called
“No need, I’ll be up before you know it!” She started to climb again then stopped, “On second thought...” she didn’t get to finish for Aralina came down and picked her up.
Setting Hosily down gently, Aralina landed.
“I heard what was going on and quickly came to help.” Hosily answered.
“Thanks. And maybe you still can. Methuen over here is out cold. And we can’t carry him any more. Do you think that you could take care of him until he is ready to join us?” Simolia asked, hoping she wasn’t overstepping her bounds.
Hosily nodded and a smile lit her face, “Sure, even though I do not think my little sister would be happy.”
The rest of the girls laughed at that for a while. Then soon sobered they had a friend to rescue. The group of fairies took what they needed then looked through the magicians pouch in case he had anything of use. They found these little ear things with receivers. Putting one close to her ear. Hosily could hear someone breathing. And then a voice that called the someone breathing Prince James. She looked at her new friends and said as much.
Excitedly the others put them in their ears, but kept silent. It sounded like he was just waking up and didn’t want to disturb him. Then the two groups separated after they helped Hosily down to where her sister was waiting. The two brought Methuen back home and the others took off the way they had been headed. Hoping that they were heading in the right direction, but deep inside they knew it was right and soon they would rescue Katalia.

James had another dream. But this one was during lunch. He was finally allowed to sit at the table with his mom and dad, and eat lunch with them. Of course he had to get a dream right then.
His first thought was, “Great, I’ll be stuck in bed for another few days. They’ll never trust me to stay awake after this.”
Then he saw his uncle’s palace. He knew it was his uncle’s because of several reasons.
1. It was dark, gloomy, and black.
2. There was a big red wall that was about 100 feet tall. It probably made it impossible to see from the outside, and
3. His sister was running over a small hill, inside the grounds.
He saw her look behind herself, then run down the hill, and in front of the red wall. She stood there for a moment, and frowned. Then she stepped through the wall, and the worst sound that James had ever heard, came from the castle.
Katalia looked at James and said, “James, I could really use your help right now. Please find me quickly. I don’t think that my escape plan is working.”
Then she ran. Someone was gaining on her, and caught up to her, then grabbed her arm. It was the boy who was in James’ other dream. The boy dragged Katalia back into the castle.
James woke up to his mother running into the room, screaming with delight. Yes, he was back in his bed.
“Oh, darling! You’re awake! Good thing too, because your sister is back!”
“I- wait, what?”
“Kat is back! Oh, she is taking a bath, because she was filthy! But, you will see her after that. It’s good to have her home.”
“Wait, but Mom, I just had a dream that Katalia was still at Uncle’s palace.”
“It must
